A National Geographic film crew embedded with U.S. Army Special Forces in 2021 in Afghanistan. The film crew was present during the departure of the Green Berets as the withdrawal of U.S. forces took place. It stayed on to film the events of the summer of 2021 with Afghan General Sami Sadat. The film crew witnessed the rapid fall of district after district to the Taliban and the bravery of Afghans special operations forces resisting the Taliban advance. And finally, it observes and records the chaotic U.S. non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) of American citizens and desperate Afghans from Kabul airport in late August 2021.
