Form for USG Immigration Status Confirmation for Afghans in Pakistan

Deportation of Afghans from Pakistan

On November 1, 2023, the Government of Pakistan began the process of deporting hundreds of thousands of Afghans to Afghanistan. Many of these Afghans have an immigration pathway to the United States. Recently, the government of the United States has been issuing confirmation letters to those Afghans whose immigration cases are pending, which hopefully will allow these Afghans to avoid deportation or detention. However, not all Afghans with an immigration pathway have received the confirmation letter.

The confirmation letter applies to Afghans in Pakistan who are in the following immigration pipelines:

USRAP P1/P2
Special Immigrant Visa (SIV)
Immigration Visa (IV)
Humanitarian Parole (HP)
I-730 (Asylee family member)
and some other categories

The #AfghanEvac Coalition has established a form designed to gather information from Afghans who are currently in Pakistan, within a U.S. immigration pathway, but have not received any confirmation letter from the U.S. government.

This form will help #AfghanEvac provide directly to the U.S. government the list of those who are caught in this administrative oversight and to push for the expediated issuance of their letters.
